NEWTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Catawba County lady was arrested on statutory rape fees Thursday.
In keeping with Catawba County Sheriff’s Workplace data, 33-year-old Katelyn Schronce of Conover was charged with statutory rape of a sufferer 15 years previous or youthful.

She has been a substitute instructor with the Catawba County faculty system. District officers say her employment with them was instantly terminated upon the arrest.
“There isn’t any indication at the moment that the fees are linked to her employment in our district,” their assertion reads. “Ms. Schronce started serving in its place in October 2024 and has been instantly launched from her duties. The protection and well-being of our college students is our highest precedence, and we are going to proceed to cooperate totally with regulation enforcement as their investigation continues.”
Schronce is being held within the Catawba County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
