Los Angeles authorities stated a pair was arrested for impersonating firefighters after they tried to enter an evacuation zone with a pretend firetruck close to the Palisades Fire area.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Fox Information Digital that Dustin Nehl, 31, and Jennifer Nehl, 44, have been arrested for Impersonating a Firefighter and getting into an evacuation zone.
Officers stated an LAPD patrol unit was driving via the Palisades Hearth space with hearth personnel and observed a fireplace truck that didn’t look like reputable.
The officers reached out to deputies and shared that the people within the phony hearth truck tried to enter an evacuation zone.

Upon approaching the truck, officers stated deputies observed that each suspects have been sporting turnout gear.
The occupants claimed to be from the “Roaring River Hearth Division” in Oregon. Nonetheless, deputies realized that the division was not reputable, and the truck was bought at an public sale.
The fireplace truck was impounded by authorities.
Officers stated the 2 occupants have been additionally sporting CAL-Hearth t-shirts underneath the turnout gear, and had helmets and radios.
The couple admitted to deputies that they’d entered the evacuation zone.
Authorities uncovered that Dustin Nehl has a felony historical past in Oregon, together with felony mischief and arson.

As of January 12, roughly 29 individuals have been arrested in Los Angeles to this point in connection to felony exercise associated to the continuing wildfires.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna stated 25 of these arrested have been within the space of the Eaton Hearth, whereas 4 others got here from the Palisades Hearth evacuation zone.
