
All crew members of the MSC Baltic III have been rescued after their vessel ran aground near the Lark Harbour shoreline off Newfoundland and Labrador’s west coast.
Pictures posted to social media present the vessel towards the rocks, near the cliffs.
Premier Andrew Furey confirmed this morning that the ship misplaced energy earlier than working aground and that all twenty crew members had been safely evacuated.
The Canadian Coast Guard ship CCGS Henry Larson is within the space and search and rescue plane, together with a cormorant helicopter had been a part of the rescue effort.
A winter storm warning is presently in impact within the area, with winds as much as 120km/h. Ferry crossings from Port aux Basques have been cancelled for the day.
