B.C. Premier David Eby will present an replace on Monday morning concerning the province’s response to Donald Trump‘s tariffs.
The press convention shall be held at 10:30 a.m. and shall be livestreamed above.
On Thursday, Eby stated British Columbia will go laws permitting it to tax U.S. vans transiting the province to Alaska.
The measure shall be included in a legislative package deal that Eby stated may also embrace modifications to eradicate interprovincial commerce obstacles and to provide the federal government “flexibility” to reply to Trump’s government orders.
Eby made the announcement as information broke that Trump was, once again, pausing 25 per cent tariffs on some Canadian goods for an additional month.
Eby stated that may not change the province’s response.

“The tariffs are on, the tariffs are off, the threats, orders rescinded, put in place — it’s all a deliberate tactic to weaken our resolve,” Eby stated.
“We aren’t going to simply accept these continuous threats, this continued uncertainty. We’re going to rise up for Canadians. That is unacceptable.”
