FEMA is extending its Transitional Sheltering Help (TSA) Program to Jan. 25 for residents of North Carolina, based on a Monday announcement.
This system, which was set to run out on Tuesday, funds momentary housing, like lodge or motel rooms, for hundreds of individuals displaced from their properties by Hurricane Helene.
The federal help provides households additional time to search out different housing options or to make repairs to their properties.

Greater than 3,000 households are eligible for this system’s extension, based on FEMA.
The company stated individuals trying out of their momentary housing on Tuesday are returning to liveable properties or have withdrawn from FEMA assistance.
