A person has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following a stand-off with armed police in Sheffield.
Officers have been referred to as to the Gateway residence block on Broad Road simply after 19:00 GMT on Monday.
Residents have been evacuated to a close-by sports activities centre and town noticed widespread journey disruption.
A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray, legal injury, possession of a firearm, threats to kill and talk with a bomb hoax, South Yorkshire Police stated.
The residence constructing stays closed whereas officers conduct a “thorough search”, though surrounding roads together with Sheffield Parkway have reopened.
Police stated: “We want to thank those that have been affected for his or her continued help whereas emergency companies conduct their work.”
The pressure is working with residents to verify pets contained in the constructing are cared for and reunited with house owners.
