Former Halifax mayor Mike Savage installed as Nova Scotia’s lieutenant-governor – Halifax

Former Halifax mayor Mike Savage has been sworn  in as Nova Scotia’s thirty fourth lieutenant-governor.

Savage was put in throughout a ceremony immediately on the Nova Scotia legislature.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced Savage’s appointment because the King’s consultant in Nova Scotia in October.

He replaces Arthur J. LeBlanc who had held the place since 2017 and who carried out his final official perform on Thursday, presiding over the swearing in of the provincial authorities’s new cupboard.

Savage served 12 years as mayor of Atlantic Canada’s largest metropolis and introduced in February that he wouldn’t search re-election.

Earlier to turning into mayor, Savage served for seven years because the MP for the federal driving of Dartmouth-Cole Harbour.
