U.S. automaker General Motors will probably be banned for 5 years from disclosing customers’ delicate geolocation and driver habits information to client reporting companies, the Federal Commerce Fee stated in a press release on Thursday.
The company alleged Normal Motors collected, used, and offered drivers’ exact geolocation information and driving habits info from tens of millions of automobiles, which can be utilized to set insurance coverage charges, with out notifying customers and acquiring consent.
The corporate has settled the FTC’s allegations, the regulatory company added.
