Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., appeared to deflect when he was confronted about Los Angeles residents being offended over his wildfire response, saying native leaders and folks on his personal group weren’t giving him a transparent image of the devastation.
In an interview with liberal podcast, “Pod Save America,” launched on Saturday, the governor mentioned he has struggled to get “straight solutions” about went fallacious with the wildfire response from lower-level leaders, suggesting that it has hampered his response.
“So, I’m the governor of California and wanna know the reply. I’ve acquired that query, I can’t inform you, by how many individuals, ‘What occurred?’ – by myself group, ‘What occurred?’… I’ll be candid with you, I wasn’t getting straight solutions,” Newsom advised co-host Jon Favreau, referencing his conversations with native leaders.

The governor then pointed a finger at President-elect Donald Trump, who he has been feuding with after Trump accused Newsom of mishandling the wildfire response.
Trump on Wednesday slammed Newsom for not doing ” job” all through the disaster. He added, “It’s extremely unhappy as a result of I have been making an attempt to get Gavin Newsom to permit water to return – you’d have large water up there, they ship it out from the Pacific – as a result of they’re making an attempt to guard a tiny little fish. In the course of the podcast interview, Newsom once more slammed Trump for the claims, stating the president is spreading misinformation.
