The grandparents of a French toddler who went missing almost two years in the past in France have been arrested on suspicion of his homicide, authorities mentioned Tuesday.
Émile Soleil, a two-year-old boy, went lacking from his grandparents’ residence in a distant hamlet of the French Alps in July of 2023. 9 months later, his remains were found by a hiker close to the village of Le Haut-Vernet.

The boy’s grandfather, Philippe Vedovini, and his spouse, who was not named by prosecutors, had been arrested this week on suspicion of “voluntary murder” and “concealing a corpse,” an announcement from the Aix-en-Provence public prosecutors mentioned.
