Harry Critchley remembered for ‘dedicating his life’ to helping the most vulnerable – Halifax

Harry Critchley is being remembered by his family and friends as an unbelievable advocate, lawyer, husband and father.

The 32-year-old died immediately on Feb. 21, after struggling an aortic aneurysm. Those that keep in mind him say his legacy will proceed to stay on within the hearts of everybody he’s impacted all through his life.

For his dad and mom, the quantity of people that attended his memorial speaks for itself.

“To see the outpouring of affection and help — it’s simply unbelievable,” stated his mom, Leah Harrington.

Whereas attending the College of King’s School, Critchley volunteered with the Halifax Humanities Society, instructing inmates on the Burnside Correctional Facility.

In an alumni function, Critchley explains, “When you study in regards to the correctional system — when you’ve got the flexibility to do one thing, you’ve got a accountability to do it.”

In 2017, Critchley helped discovered the East Coast Jail Justice Society, an advocacy hub that works in solidarity with imprisoned and criminalized people.
