New York Choose Juan Merchan denied President-elect Donald Trump’s request to delay sentencing within the New York v. Trump case.
“Defendant’s movement for a keep of those proceedings, together with the sentencing listening to scheduled for January 10, 2025, is hereby DENIED,” Merchan wrote in his choice Monday.
Earlier Monday, Trump’s authorized group filed a movement to delay sentencing within the case. Trump is about to be sentenced on Friday, Jan. 10, at 9:30 a.m., 10 days forward of his inauguration because the forty seventh president of the USA on Jan. 20.

“The American Folks elected President Trump with an amazing mandate that calls for an instantaneous finish to the political weaponization of our justice system and all the remaining Witch Hunts. We look ahead to uniting our nation within the new administration as President Trump makes America nice once more,” Cheung continued.
Merchan has already mentioned he won’t sentence the president-elect to jail, and as an alternative subject a sentence of an “unconditional discharge,” which implies there could be no punishment imposed.
