Lara Trump, President-elect Trump’s daughter-in-law, stated Saturday she is eradicating herself from consideration for Florida Republican Marco Rubio’s seat within the U.S. Senate.
“After an unbelievable quantity of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I’ve determined to take away my title from consideration for the USA Senate,” she wrote on X Saturday.
The president-elect has nominated Rubio to be secretary of state.
“I couldn’t have been extra honored to function RNC co-chair throughout essentially the most high-stakes election of our lifetime and I’m really humbled by the unbelievable assist proven to me by the individuals of our nation, and right here within the nice state of Florida,” Lara Trump added.

Trump, the spouse of Eric Trump, the president-elect’s son, stepped down as co-chair of the Republican Nationwide Committee earlier this month.

Rubio’s senate substitute shall be appointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and can serve the remaining two years of Rubio’s time period.
