Intel’s new CEO Lip-Bu Tan wasted no time laying out his plans for the semiconductor large.
Talking on the Intel Imaginative and prescient convention this week, Tan advised attendees that the corporate will spin off belongings that are not core to its mission, Bloomberg reported. Tan did not specify what was labeled as core and non-core to the corporate’s enterprise.
Intel may also launch new merchandise together with customized semiconductors for patrons, Tan added. However he made no point out of breaking apart the corporate, in line with Bloomberg, which was a potential turnaround strategy floated in current months.
Tan was named Intel’s CEO on March 12 and assumed the function on March 18, a little bit over three months after former CEO Pat Gelsinger was forced out of the function on December 1. Beforehand, Tan was a member of the corporate’s board of administrators earlier than resigning late final August.
TechCrunch has reached out to Intel for remark.
