Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, stated on Thursday she will’t help Pete Hegseth to be President Donald Trump’s secretary of Protection.
“Given the worldwide safety atmosphere we’re working in, it’s important that we verify a Secretary of Protection, nonetheless, I remorse that I’m unable to help Mr. Hegseth,” she concluded in a prolonged assertion posted to X.

In her reasoning, Murkowski cited infidelity, “allegations of sexual assault and extreme consuming” and Hegseth’s earlier feedback on girls serving within the army.

The behaviors that he has admitted to alone, she stated, present “a scarcity of judgment that’s unbecoming of somebody who would lead our armed forces.”
Whereas Hegseth has admitted to previous infidelity, he has denied claims of extreme consuming and sexual assault.
