A manhunt is underway after a deputy was shot and killed whereas serving a warrant in southeast Houston on Wednesday.
Houston Police stated 56-year-old Robert Lee Davis, also referred to as Christopher Davis, is needed in connection to the taking pictures and stays on the run.
Houston Mayor John Whitmire and Houston Police Chief J. Noe Diaz stated Brazoria County Sheriff’s Deputy Jesus Jesse Vargas was killed after being shot within the head whereas serving a warrant on a repeat offender.
The incident occurred within the parking zone of a Greenback Normal on Stella Street close to the 610 South Loop at about 11:30 a.m.

Vargas and his accomplice have been serving a warrant on the offender within the parking zone, and after they approached the fugitive’s car, he reportedly opened fire and fled the scene.
Vargas was working as a member of the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Job Drive on the time of the taking pictures, in line with authorities.
Officers stated Vargas was shot within the head.
Vargas was taken to Ben Taub Hospital the place he was pronounced lifeless.
Vargas was a 17-year veteran of the pressure and leaves behind a spouse and three youngsters, authorities stated.

Harris County Constable Alan Rosen posted on X that his division is aiding within the seek for the suspect.
“We’re praying for the officer shot whereas serving a warrant this morning,” Rosen wrote. “Please maintain this officer and his household in your prayers!!!! I’ve deputies connected to this job pressure who’re out trying to find the suspect with our different legislation enforcement companions!”
Davis was final seen carrying a blue Nike hoodie with white lettering, blue denims, and blue sneakers.
