Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., is asking for the swift trial, conviction, and execution of the person charged in reference to the grotesque homicide of a girl burned alive on a New York City subway.
The outspoken Republican took to social media on Tuesday to handle the incident, during which Guatemalan nationwide Sebastian Zapeta, 33, is accused of setting a girl on hearth whereas on a practice in Brooklyn.
“Demise penalty, don’t waste cash on a prolonged trial. Convict him and end him. What he did is so extremely evil,” Greene declared in a publish on X. “I can’t watch the video anymore. And the way it looks like nobody tried to save lots of her is past me. Possibly they did but it surely doesn’t seem to be it.”
Zapeta faces prices of first- and second-degree homicide, and first-degree arson, with a most sentence of life imprisonment with no parole.

Greene will not be the one member of Congress to weigh in on the case.

New York Metropolis Police Division Commissioner Jessica Tisch famous throughout remarks on Sunday that Zapeta allegedly “used what we imagine to be a lighter to ignite the sufferer’s clothes, which grew to become totally engulfed in a matter of seconds.” Assistant District Lawyer Ari Rottenberg alleged in courtroom on Tuesday that the suspect fanned the hearth with a shirt.

A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson stated in a press release that Zapeta had been faraway from the U.S. in 2018 after which re-entered the country illegally sooner or later “on an unknown date and placement.”
