A large in a single day blaze triggered vital injury to deserted college buildings in Halifax’s north finish which were described as a “identified hazard” for potential fires.
The union representing Halifax firefighters says lots of its members have been referred to as to the large construction fireplace round 2 a.m. Sunday, and the blaze escalated shortly.
Brent Williams, a spokesperson for Halifax Skilled Fireplace Fighters IAFF Native 268, says on the fireplace’s peak there have been 44 firefighters on the scene of the fires within the long-vacant college buildings on Agricola Avenue.

The 44 firefighters signify nearly half of the out there every day employees minimal throughout the 5,700 sq. kilometre municipality.
Williams says the Bloomfield college web site, which is owned by a developer and sits vacant, has been a “identified hazard for a while.”
Halifax Regional Fireplace and Emergency says in a press release on social media the blaze was introduced below management round 5:45 a.m. and no accidents have been reported.
The fireplace division says the reason for the blaze is below investigation and firefighters remained on scene Sunday to place out hidden fires.
