MEXICO CITY (AP) — Authorities in Mexico are providing state safety to famed regional Mexican singer Natanael Cano and different artists after a drug cartel in northern Mexico publicly threatened them, prosecutors confirmed to The Related Press on Tuesday.
Photographs of a banner threatening the lives of Cano, a singer of corridos, a musical style usually linked to drug cartel violence, and several other different artists within the Sonora area circulated on social media over the weekend.
