Prisons minister Lord Timpson has admitted indefinite jail terms are a “horrible stain” on our justice system.
In a debate within the Home of Lords on Monday, he agreed that the abolished Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentence was improper however maintained the federal government is not going to resentence extra 2,600 prisoners nonetheless languishing underneath the jail time period.
