Montreal author Christopher DiRaddo says he is upset after a municipal library instructed him he is not allowed to carry his month-to-month guide membership there as a result of it might violate Quebec’s new language legislation.
The Violet Hour Guide Membership explores 2SLGBTQ+ literature, and although members learn a mixture of French- and English-language books, discussions are held in English, DiRaddo defined when reaching out to the Père-Ambroise public library within the Montreal Village.
“As a substitute of making bridges, which I hope to do with my guide membership, I felt like they had been placing limitations in the best way,”
