PALO ALTO, Calif. – A Palo Alto lady faces hate crime and battery costs after allegedly spitting on a person and yelling racial epithets, police stated.

The incident occurred Saturday round 6 p.m. at Lytton Plaza on College Avenue, the place police responded to a report of a battle.
On the scene, officers discovered a person in his 60s who had been attacked.
Authorities stated the sufferer was sitting within the plaza when he was approached by a girl who, with out provocation, spit on him whereas shouting a racial epithet directed at Black folks.
The person left the plaza because the suspect continued yelling.
Officers situated the suspect, 50-year-old Lisa Madden, and arrested her on costs of battery and a hate crime.
Authorities stated Madden continued to hurl racial epithets on the sufferer even within the presence of officers.
