Pope Francis died Monday morning on the age of 88, based on Cardinal Kevin Ferrell, the Vatican camerlengo.
“At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father. His total life was devoted to the service of the Lord and His Church,” Farrell introduced.
“He taught us to stay the values of the Gospel with constancy, braveness and common love, particularly in favor of the poorest and most marginalized,” the announcement continued.
