Reuters was capable of verify the placement of the video as St. Peter’s Basilica from the bas-reliefs, columns, and flooring, which matched file imagery of the Basilica’s interiors. The date when the video was recorded was verified by the metadata and confirmed by the supply.
“We had been visiting St. Peter’s Basilica and noticed some guards passing by and making approach, so we went to see what it was, and it was the Pope. Few individuals seen, it was very fast, however he stopped to speak to a household with a child,” stated Luiz Gil, who filmed the encounter.
