Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s workplace has launched an official itinerary outlining a five-day diplomatic journey to Washington, D.C., together with the presidential inauguration on Capitol Hill on Monday.
Starting Saturday, the province says Smith is to fulfill with vitality trade leaders and elected officers in an effort to advertise “an period of partnership.”

It comes as president-elect Donald Trump threatens to impose 25 per cent tariffs on all Canadian imports to the U.S. on his first day in workplace.
Smith prompted controversy this week after refusing to log off on a joint assertion from different premiers and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that each countermeasure is on the desk.
Smith says Alberta gained’t stand for chopping off vitality provide to the U.S. or export tariffs on the province’s vitality from Ottawa.
The federal authorities says it’s ready to hit the U.S. with billions of {dollars} in retaliatory tariffs, and has already despatched a number of ministers to Washington this week, together with Overseas Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly.
