The President’s motion authorizes the Division of Homeland Safety, Federal Emergency Administration Company (FEMA), to coordinate all catastrophe reduction efforts which have the aim of assuaging the hardship and struggling brought on by the emergency on the native inhabitants. FEMA will present applicable help for required emergency measures, approved underneath Title V of the Stafford Act, to avoid wasting lives and to guard property and public well being and security, and to minimize or avert the specter of a disaster in all 120 counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Particularly, FEMA is permitted to determine, mobilize, and supply, at its discretion, gear and sources essential to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protecting measures, restricted to direct federal help, will likely be offered at 75 % Federal funding.
Mr. Jeremy Slinker of FEMA has been appointed to coordinate Federal restoration operations within the affected areas.
