A person from Quebec has died following a ship explosion at a South Florida marina this week that additionally injured six individuals, officers say.
The explosion was Monday and the person has been recognized as Sebastien Gauthier, 41, stated Arielle Callender, a spokesperson for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee (FWC), in an announcement to CBC Information.
Gauthier was amongst seven passengers aboard a 37-foot [11.3-metre] vessel on the Lauderdale Marina in Fort Lauderdale.
In response to preliminary data, the vessel exploded after its engines had been began, stated Callender.
The six different passengers had been rushed to hospital for remedy.
Callender stated an investigation by the FWC is ongoing.
“Our deepest condolences to the household and mates of Mr. Gauthier throughout this tough time,” she wrote.
