Residents say Birmingham shopkeepers are cashing in on the bin strikes by rising the costs of rat poison amid the infestation. Locals say the price of rat bait has skyrocketed as a consequence of demand as the continued industrial motion which has been blighting the town enters its fourth week. The enormous rats invading the streets have even been given the nickname of “The Squeaky Blinders” after well-known TV collection “The Peaky Blinders”. Birmingham Metropolis Council has been laying on cell bin collections in an try and clear an estimated 17,000 tonnes of uncollected garbage.
