The RCMP arrested eight folks Thursday morning in Quebec and Ontario as a part of an investigation focusing on a smuggling ring that allegedly transported migrants throughout the U.S. border.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Martina Pillarova says seven males and one girl — all between 20 and 30 years previous — have been arrested in Montreal and Brampton, Ont.

Police raided three properties within the two cities, and Pillarova says one of many properties in Montreal is believed to have been used as a “stash home” to cover migrants earlier than they have been smuggled into the USA.
She says the suspects will likely be positioned in custody and will face costs associated to human smuggling.
She provides that they may additionally face removing from Canada.
The RCMP says the smuggling community marketed its unlawful crossing providers on social media platforms comparable to Instagram and WhatsApp.
