Saskatchewan RCMP say they’ve arrested an 18-year-old man and an unnamed male youth in reference to the quadruple murder on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation earlier this month.
Darrius Racette, 18, has been charged with 4 counts of first-degree homicide. The unnamed youth is predicted to be charged later Wednesday, Insp. Ashley St. Germaine, a senior investigative officer with the main crimes unit, mentioned throughout a information convention Wednesday.
Police say they arrested the 2 suspects on Feb. 18. Racette was arrested in Yorkton, Sask., whereas the youth was arrested on Carry the Kettle.
St. Germaine mentioned RCMP consider the house on Carry the Kettle was focused.
Officers responded to a report of deaths on the reserve, situated about 80 kilometres east of Regina, at 11:15 a.m. CT on Feb. 4, 2025. They discovered 4 individuals useless in a house.
RCMP later recognized the victims as Tracey Hotomani, 34, and Terry Jack, 51, from Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation; Shauna Fay, 47, from Indian Head; and Sheldon Quewezance, 44, from Zagime Anishinabek.
