Particular Counsel Jack Smith resigned from the Division of Justice on Friday after he accomplished his two legal investigations of President-elect Donald Trump.
The departure was disclosed within the footnote of a court docket submitting submitted Saturday to Trump-appointed U.S. District Choose Aileen Cannon of Florida. “The Particular Counsel accomplished his work and submitted his last confidential report on January 7, 2025, and separated from the Division on January 10,” the submitting reads.
