The final scheduled weekend closure for the Interstate 17 pavement enchancment venture begins Friday evening on a stretch of the southbound lanes between State Route 74 and Loop 303 in north Phoenix, based on the Arizona Division of Transportation.
ADOT confirmed the closure will final from 10 p.m. Friday via 5 a.m. Monday. The closure is amongst a number of that ADOT officials announced were scheduled during the weekend.
To keep away from the closure, southbound drivers are suggested to detour west on State Route 74 to southbound Lake Nice Parkway and use eastbound Loop 303 to return to the I-17.
The ADOT pavement venture started final Might to take away the highest layer of asphalt pavement and diamond grinding the concrete pavement beneath. Latest work has targeted on changing metal bridge deck joints that span the width of the freeway.
“The development work has created a safer, smoother and longer lasting floor alongside six miles of I-17 north of Joyful Valley Street,” the division stated on its web site.
