Authorities in Montreal have arrested seven suspects in an organized crime sweep on Wednesday morning focusing on town’s Italian mafia.
Police say the people face varied prices together with drug trafficking and possession of drugs for the aim of trafficking and committing an offence for the good thing about a legal group.
The suspects are six males between the ages of 34 and 59, and one 44-year-old lady.

Police say 40 officers had been concerned within the operation.
All seven suspects are allegedly linked to what police referred to as a “conventional Italian organized crime clan,” a launch from the SPVM says.
The collection of arrests happened within the larger Montreal neighbourhoods of LaSalle, Verdun and Brossard.
All seven suspects are anticipated to seem in court docket on Wednesday.
The operation was led by the Montreal police’s anti-gang unit.
The investigation into the group started in 2023, and has already resulted in seizures of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, weapons and $2.2 million in money throughout raids final yr, in keeping with authorities.
