Two males are dealing with expenses for allegedly defrauding victims out of house enchancment tasks.
Billy O’Brien, 38, of Wellesley and Thomas Maughan, 46, of Waltham, are charged with numerous felonies associated to contractor fraud, in accordance with Salem Police. The duo was arrested Monday following an investigation by the Salem Police Felony Investigation Division.
Authorities say O’Brien and Maughan are a part of a transnational felony group that engages in house enchancment scams. Members of the felony group allegedly go door-to-door and provide home work in change for a down cost, do some demolition work as soon as the cost is acquired, and by no means return to finish the job.
Police say O’Brien and Maughan posed to work for “Everbuild Masonry and Waterproofing” and “Base Professional Building.”
Anybody who has had contact with both males are inspired to contact the Salem Police Division at (978) 744-1212.
