The operator of a ferry service between Vancouver Island and Washington state says it’s sorry for “unintentionally” elevating the Canadian flag the other way up because it entered Victoria harbour on Sunday.
The Black Ball Ferry Line, which runs a ferry between Victoria and Port Angeles, Wash., says elevating the flag on strategy to the harbour is a part of a “routine apply,” and the error was “mounted instantly.”

The Seattle-based firm says in an announcement it’s “sincerely” apologetic for the “unintended disrespect or confusion” the flag state of affairs brought about.
The agency says in a social media publish that it values the “robust connections on either side of the water,” and has the “utmost respect” for the communities it serves.
Black Ball Ferry Line’s web site says it runs the passenger and automobile ferry every day between Victoria and Port Angeles, with every day 90-minute crossings.
The error comes amid heightened tensions as U.S. President Donald Trump makes repeated feedback about making Canada the 51st state.
