
Ukraine’s “voice should be on the coronary heart” of any peace deal negotiations to finish the battle with Russia, the UK’s defence secretary has stated.
Talking as Nato allies gathered in Brussels on Thursday (13 February), John Healey maintained that Russia “stays a risk effectively past Ukraine” after Donald Trump claimed that he and Vladimir Putin had agreed to start talks on ending the battle.
The US president stated he agreed together with his Russian counterpart to “work collectively, very intently” on ending the three-year battle in a cellphone dialog on Wednesday.
“There will be no negotiation about Ukraine with out Ukraine, and Ukraine’s voice should be on the coronary heart of any talks,” Mr Healey added.
