An unfair labour observe grievance filed by the union representing Canada Put up employees over layoffs has been resolved.
The Canadian Union of Postal Employees filed the complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board on Nov. 29 after some employees acquired momentary layoff notices whereas on strike.
The union says a mediated settlement has been reached that requires Canada Put up to inform affected workers that they aren’t on a short lived layoff.
It says about 328 employees have been issued the layoff notices.
The union referred to as the transfer a “blatant intimidation tactic” and accused Canada Put up of violating the Canada Labour Code, which the Crown company denied.
Canada Put up says that below the phrases of the decision, it reserves the suitable to make staffing changes sooner or later if required.
The strike by greater than 55,000 postal employees over key points like wages and dealing circumstances is nearing the four-week mark.
