Annually, enterprise publication Forbes compiles an inventory of schools and universities that, by information evaluation and survey responses from C-suite executives, it determines to be amongst the “New Ivies.”
In brief, it’s an inventory of establishments that by way of rigor, selectivity and fame, are consistent with or surpassing the normal Ivy League faculties; Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale, in addition to the 4 “Ivy Plus” faculties; Duke, MIT, Stanford and University of Chicago.
The listing is cut up into two sections — private and non-private faculties.
And for the primary time, the College of Pittsburgh is included on the general public faculties New Ivies listing.
With the intention to qualify for the 2025 listing, public faculties like Pitt must have at the very least 4,000 undergraduate college students enrolled, admit fewer than 50% of candidates and their admitted college students will need to have excessive check scores — the median SAT rating for admitted college students to the New Ivy public faculties was 1,410 and for the ACT it was 32.
