AUSTIN (KXAN) — A wildfire in Gillespie County that prompted evacuations Saturday grew to greater than 8,600 acres by the night, in accordance with an update from the Texas A&M Forest Service.
As of 6:12 p.m. Saturday, the wildfire, named the Crabapple Fireplace, was 0% contained.

Fredericksburg officers mentioned in a media launch the hearth began close to 8700 Decrease Crabapple Street, which is north of downtown Fredericksburg. It then moved east throughout Freeway 16 North attributable to excessive winds and prime wildfire situations.
“Anybody within the path ought to evacuate instantly,” Fredericksburg Fire EMS said in a Facebook post.
